Dr. Sutphin graduated magna cum laude from the University of Utah, where he remained to complete his medical degree. He was an intern and surgery resident at the University of California at Davis in Sacramento and returned to the University of Utah College of Medicine to perform his urology residency. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the recipient of numerous academic honors awards.

Dr. Sutphin is certified by the American Board of Urology and is the author of professional publications and scientific presentations. Involved in various professional societies, he is currently the vice president of the Wyoming Urological Society. In addition to his professional activities, he is an active member of his community, working with the United Way of Sweetwater County and serving as a trustee for School District No. 1.
